Here is the gang in Kathy’s studio, just getting ready to critique my painting. They look friendly, don’t they? Just kidding… they had some great suggestions for my paintings. Thanks guys! If I could figure out how to post more than one image in each post, I’d post them here… but alas, I am still stymied with getting images in any other way than via flickr. Kathy has a beautiful home right on Puget Sound. The author of The Highest Tide, Jim Lynch, reportedly lives right across the sound from her place!
We really enjoyed her hospitality and the fabulous view. Linda even ventured out kayaking, despite the chop.
Wow! I think I just figured it out! ok… here is the painting “Bluebird II” before critique. The photo is a bit dark, and there is a little reflection off some of the darker areas.
And here is the same painting after critique:
Notice that I have broken the larger lighter area in the upper left part of the tree into smaller bits and darkened the light shape between her feet. Also, the color in this image more closely represents the painting.
Yay… I am so happy to have figured this more than one image thing out!
OK… now one more image. This one I just submitted to the WSO fall Transparent Exhibition:
Hi Ruth,
