So, my husband and son want to know what I am doing while they are watching hockey. What is fascinating me on my teeny tiny laptop that could possibly compete with burly men on thin blades of metal, skimming the ice at top speed and hurtling into each other with enormous force in the chase of a small round black disc?
I’m starting a blog, I reply. “No one needs a blog” says my 18 yr. old son. “Can you make money with it?” asks my husband. Why am I starting this?
The truth is that I love to view blogs, people’s thoughts and images and daily lives. I find it inspiring and thought provoking and I want to be part of the circle. Besides, I need a distraction from the constant barrage of sports that parade through our family room on the 51″ plasma. Also, I’m hoping that by doing this type of public journaling I might be holding myself a bit more accountable to get things done artistically! But mostly, I just think it is a great opportunity to share thoughts & inspirations.
Wish me luck in getting this set up! I may be able to follow directions, but “Code is (NOT) poetry” to me.

Art is Truth…Artist Ruth….Just love it!
Congratulations on getting your blog up and running.
I am researching a blog for the same reasons. How did you decide which format (Google, etc.) to use?
Welcome to blogland. I’m putting you on my Bloglines right now so I dont miss a post and wishing you the best in your new venture. BTW, I love the watercolor you’re sending to San Diego. Much success to you!! xo
Congratulations Ruth,
You’ve begun a great blog site here. You have so much info about you, your art, teaching. Any chance my blog could get on your blogroll? (this is the first I’ve hear of a blogroll.)
Honestly, I don’t know why more people don’t blog. I find it such a great way to share ideas, art, stories.
Hi Ruth,
Love your new blog, think it’s a great idea. I am still painting, still taking classes and still love it AND still remember your class and all you gave in the way of instruction, encouragement and inspiration.
Had to comment when I read your husbands response. My husband said the same thing! You are surrounded by sports and I have musicians. We both have our art to escape to.
Congrats on your new blog.
