I’m planning a trip to Olympia to visit fellow ‘Splash’ critique group artist Kathy Bethurum.  She’s hosting us all at her waterfront home for an overnight art retreat.  Thinking about this trip to Puget Sound has made me remember the book The Highest Tide by Jim Lynch.  I loved his descriptions of living on the tidewater, and the young boy’s coming of age.

I’m looking forward to getting out on the water, seeing some good friends and possibly even making some art!
