I made my second trip in 2 days to Salem today to deliver forgotten items and a huge futon to daughter Amelia. Her room is looking so cute! I brought her a poster from my husband’s uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary party… Uncle Bill & Aunt Carol add a certain ‘retro’ feel to the room 🙂
Came home and contemplated getting back in the studio to resurrect the painting I started on Saturday, but it was stuffy and UBER-CLUTTERED with daughter Erin’s packing (or lack thereof). Tried to tidy a bit, but got discouraged… finally ended up doing some laundry instead, and surfing some of my favorite blogs for inspiration. I’m anxious to have the house back in order, but I’ll miss the kid’lins….
One thing I’ve been enjoing is an interview with Donna Zagotta done by Creative Catalyst. She is so down to earth and her approach really makes sense to me. You can download the interview for free, but I’d really encourage you to check out the DVD! I’ve had the pleasure of studying with Donna, and she is a fabulous instructor! And Creative Catalyst does a great instructional art DVD… you feel like you have the instructor right in the room with you.
Then on to some of my favorite blogs, which are always expanding. A new one I’ve really been enjoying is Rare Bird, another Portland artist. I love her drawings and seeing her inspirations, and it is always fun to see what other local artists are up to.
Ideas rolling around in my head:
mailboxes, tire swings, twisty beach trees. Tomorrow morning I’m off to the new house for another well-connection estimate… then we’ll see what evolves from these!
