We’ve had a recent run-in with the local population of coyotes lately, so I was extremely happy to see this fawn again on Monday. The tragedy is that the coyotes got two of my best laying hens, right from under our noses.
I hope many of you will plan to visit me this weekend as I open my studio for Open Studios of Beavercreek. Visit the website for a map of studio locations, list of participating artists and more. Hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 10, 11, 12, 2011 from 10-4. I will have new artwork on display, prints, cards and refreshments. I’ll also be demonstrating my painting techniques for those interested.
Also, it’s not too late to enter my Blog Anniversary Giveaway/ Online Exhibition. I’ve gotten some images already, and it looks like it’s going to be a really nice Online Exhibition. Don’t make me beg you for your image! Remember, you can enter even if you don’t have a piece to enter by sharing this post on your facebook page or blog and emailing me about it. You can earn extra entries that way too 🙂 Email images and entries to ruth (at) rutharmitage.com (remove the (at) and replace it with @)
I’m off to finish framing & setting up the displays in my studio!
So sad to hear about your poor hens 🙁 Those coyotes are very bold and behaving badly. We just saw one standing right outside our back porch in broad daylight!
Hope you are having a fun Open Studio weekend. It was good to see your Mom when she stopped by yesterday on the tour.

Hi Blenda… Yes they have been getting bolder & bolder. I’m hoping they won’t be back any time soon, but I’m sure they must have babies to feed too. Hope to get up to see your studio this weekend for a minute….
best, Ruth
