My husband & I had our 25th Wedding Anniversary this month and to celebrate, we took a trip to Colorado to visit our son & his girlfriend. They are working at Florissant National Monument, just west of Colorado Springs, near Pike’s Peak. There was a nice article in the Pikes Peak Courier mentioning Tim and his girlfriend Michelle for their work with youth there.

I’ve been to Denver before, but this was the first time I’d explored that area at all. It seems like just yesterday that Marc & I were dating and in college. Now here we are with kids that age! How does time always seem to play that particular trick on us? They are such great people, and really made our trip a joy.  Here are some photos from the trip!

Me & my Sweetheart, 2011. This petrified redwood stump is unusual: it's host for a ponderosa pine tree!

I’m sending thoughts and prayers to those who have been pummeled by Hurricane Irene. I hope if you’re reading this you will join me in supporting the many victims of this storm.
