I am slowly catching up on all the work I left when I was on the East coast last month. This painting was one I had left drying and wanted to add some highlights to. Sunflowers always remind me of late summer, the more mellow warmth, crisp mornings and warm light.

I love the ability oils provide to build up texture and color. I did another sunflower painting as a favor for a friend this summer and it became a wedding gift for her daughter. I received such a nice thank-you from her! I love helping make those special connections through my art.
