The Lake Oswego Festival of Arts kicks off tomorrow and you can find 4 of my paintings there. I will be at the reception for The Artist’s Vision Friday evening. Be sure to take one of the free shuttles from Lake Oswego Junior High, Lakeridge High School or Marylhurst University or catch one of the shuttles downtonw to save yourself a parking hassle!
Looking for a great place to dine, before or after taking in some art? Here are a few personal restaurant recommendations!
If you’re coming from I-5, try Oswego Grill, just off I-5 at the Kruse Way exit. Then proceed from there to the shuttle at Lake Oswego Junior High.
Heading into Lake Oswego from the north on Highway 43? I absolutely love Dang’s Thai Kitchen, right on Hwy 43 south of Terwilliger. The closest shuttle stop to Dang’s would be the Willamette Shore Trolley Station on Foothills Road.
If you’re coming from the south on Highway 43, try Bugatti’s Ristorante in West Linn for some wonderful Italian food. Then head north on Hwy 43 and catch the shuttle from Marylhurst University.
Of course, you can also just grab a bite at the Festival! There will be food behind the Lakewood Center by Expressions at The Stafford, as well as a cocktail mingle no-host bar. Food vendors at George Rogers Park include Pizza Schmizza, Urban German, Nicoletta’s Table, Getta Gyro, Oregon Beignet, The Knights of Columbus, Miss Hannah’s Gourmet Popcorn & Coffee, Corn on the Cob, Baked Potatos and Vietnamese Noodles, as well as a Beer & Wine Pavillion.
Once you’re fed you will have plenty of time to enjoy the wide variety of art on display. I will have 3 abstract paintings, including “Grainery” pictured below in the Lakewood Center itself, and one of my plein air efforts from the Lake Oswego Plein Air event! You’ll see a wide variety of work in the Open show in the tent behind the Lakewood Center, one of the largest in the NW. And the Festival booths at George Rogers Park are always stellar. Enjoy an evening of art; see you there!
I found your work today, Ruth. You got an award for this piece! Congrats. It sure was hot touring the art/craft tents on the ball field, but worth it.
Thank you Jo! I was excited to see that ribbon hanging there 🙂
