“The stupid believe that to be truthful is easy; only the artist, the great artist, knows how difficult it is.” – Willa Cather
I have been working on some new oil paintings, but they are not quite ready for public consumption. This morning, I tried something new: I uploaded some images to the website Society6.com. They print cards, posters, iphone cases, etc. and ship them off to whoever orders them. I receive a small profit when one of my items sells, but I don’t have to do any fulfillment or inventory management. If you see something you like and place an order, I would love to hear how you like it! If you have a painting that you’d love to see in print, let me know. I’ll see if I can make it happen.
Finally, Robert Genn had come up with some new vocabulary that more succinctly expresses many of the ‘truths’ in art. For Example:
Dollarflopper: A dealer or a curator who tells an artist what or how to paint. Follow the link to his most recent post here.
Here is a link to my ‘shop’ online:
I really like the online store! It would be cool if you could buy 20-pack of mixed note cards.
Best wishes you your new online endeavor… looks promising.
