I found this quote this morning on this website http://artistquoteoftheday.wordpress.com/. I subscribe to posts here and I’m never disappointed in the inspiration it brings.

I find Eileen Clegg’s words so true a I go through my work from the past year. I love sharing my work, but the real benefit of painting for me are the personal discoveries. Each painting has memories and thought associated with it that Probably would not have come up if I weren’t painting. There’s something wonderful about what the mind does when it is totally absorbed in the physical act of painting… while the left brain is occupied thinking about shape and color and line, the right brain can play and make associations, feel, dream… It is a fulfilling and awesome way to spend my time, and I am so thankful to be able to pursue a life of art.
