I am totally in the present, watching the snow fall, listening to the chickens rustle through the dry leaves. I have forgotten how to paint, but it doesn’t matter. I can listen to Billy Collins recite poetry on YouTube. Note to self: Next year, make more time for art during the holiday season, so that re-entry into the studio is not so difficult!

This week my book club discussed the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I read it sometime before the holidays, but could barely recall the plot, even after reading the reviews. This is a sign, not that I am growing older, but that it was a shallow book. It received mixed reviews from our group. If you are looking for some light, fast paced reading, this may be your book, but I think I would skip it. There are so many that are more worthy of your time.
