This was another unfinished painting that I left to return to as a jump-start. It was inspired by the view from Hyland Estates where I showed my work earlier this year. I added more intense color in the foreground and the distant hills and simplified the sky area. I’m planning a plein air day next week and this time I will be taking oil paints. Fall is my favorite time of year, when the heat of summer mellows and mornings and evenings are crisp & cool.

I’m starting to think about what paintings I might include in the Sitka Invitational show in November. I received a few paper invitations to mail out. Let me know if you’d like to receive one! Otherwise, the information is available on their website. I’m thrilled to be included in this show.
